Bio

Shawn Brown is a property professional and has been in the Bermuda Real Estate industry for 15 years. He is an active Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) since 2011. He is a RICS Registered Valuer and a Bermuda Registered Surveyor. 

As a RICS Registered Valuer, he conducts property appraisals/valuations which are required by financial institutions. He has worked in both the private and public sectors in various capacities  which include Asset Management, Property management and Property Valuation/Appraiser roles.

He is the Principal and Managing Director of Atlantic Real Estate Advisory Services Ltd (AREAS), a 100% independent firm that provides property valuations and real estate consultation for landlords, tenants and property owners.

Shawn started his journey as a property professional with the Bermuda Government as a Trainee Estates Surveyor. During that time his responsibilities included the Management of various Government properties, foreshore valuations, and rent negotiations. From there, he moved into the Banking Sector as a Property Asset Manager reviewing valuations and providing recommendations on the disposal of distressed assets. 

In 2016 he joined Rego Sotheby’s International Realty as the Professional Services Manager for 6 years. During this time, he was the head of a team responsible for managing various properties both large commercial and condominium developments and as a valuer, valuing/appraising various types of properties and unique developments.

Shawn holds a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, a Post-Graduate Diploma from The College of Estate Management and an MBA from the University of Bradford.
